Peripheral blood leukocyte counts in male and female mice. Blood samples were collected into heparinized containers from male and female mice via cardiac, tail vein, foot vein, and saphenous vein punctures. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM (x106/ml). * p < 0.05 as compared to cardiac value within the same sex group. The number of mice per each group were; Tail = 14, Foot = 18, Cardiac = 17, and Saphenous = 8.
